Gwendolyn Gainer, Founder & Creative Director
Gwendolyn founded Teramark in 2001. She oversees projects that include web design and development, internet marketing, and social media strategy and techniques. She has the capability to create a full marketing campaign for organizations across a broad range of industries and has developed hundreds of websites for clients in nearly every business sector. Among her most recent accomplishments, Gwendolyn created an extremely successful social media campaign for a major national university, managed a complex intranet overhaul for a multi-system healthcare company, and produced a website and marketing campaign for a prominent national figure running for office.
Gwendolyn also has considerable experience in graphic design, including design of corporate logos, collateral materials (such as brochures and annual reports), and trade show booths. Moreover, she has expertise in search engine optimization and on-line advertising, which she uses to ensure successful business growth for clients.
William Beaman, Messaging & Branding
Bill oversees services for Teramark that include branding and messaging, as well as every kind of content creation. He assists clients in re-positioning their brand to retain and expand business, and provides eloquent and engaging messaging to support that brand. He also creates copy for new or re-designed websites, and writes articles, opinion pieces and speeches on behalf of business executives and public policy leaders. In addition, Bill assists with message training and public speaking—which are among the disciplines he teaches as an adjunct professor of strategic communication at American University in Washington, D.C.
Before his work as a communications strategist, Bill spent 31 years as a journalist in high-profile positions. He was editor-in-chief of Campaigns and Elections magazine, the leading publication for those in the business of politics, where he successfully re-launched the monthly and repositioned its brand. Prior to this, Bill was Washington Bureau Chief for Reader's Digest, the world's largest circulation magazine, where he wrote or edited stories on a full range of national interest topics. Before his posting in Washington, Bill spent three years in Hong Kong for Reader's Digest, where he launched a bureau responsible for Asia-wide coverage for the magazine's 49 global editions.
Earlier in his career, Bill wrote, produced and broadcast radio documentaries, and wrote and edited for the National Geographic Society. His grounding in public policy includes a master's degree from Harvard University.
Carol Hardy, Senior Print Designer
Carol is a graphic designer with 20 plus years experience. She believes that graphic design is about more than making something "look good" — it's about finding powerful ways to help clients communicate more clearly.
She has worked with a wide range of organizations from the Smithsonian Institution to the American Electronics Association to PepsiCo. Offering clients one-stop design services, Hardy guides projects through each critical step: concept, production and printing.
She brings a diversity of experience and expertise to clients, having designed brochures, ads, newsletters, and annual reports — as well as packaging, logos, signage, and web design. While every project is different, she always remains focused on one goal… helping her clients communicate effectively.
Sue Kellogg, Senior Web Designer
Sue has more than 20 years' experience in design and advertising. She provides all phases of graphic design service for print and digital projects, from concept through production. Her work includes annual reports, catalogs, and travel publications as well as identity systems, web sites and ad campaigns.
Sue has worked extensively on a variety of projects for the airline industry including the Aviation Millennium Project, which received the Silver Anvil award, three Thoth Awards for Best Graphic Design, Best of Show and Best External Public Relations Program, and the Communicator Award for best PR campaign.
Brian Jacobs, Senior Web Developer
Brian has over 14 years of experience in web programming, with particular expertise in PHP and .NET, and database systems such as MySQL and MS SQL Server. Brian is also an experienced system administrator, having set up and managed servers for over 14 years.
Brian also has over 10 years of experience programming for Content Management Systems. He has worked with a variety of both proprietary and open source solutions such as, Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, OpenCMS, OpenText, Microsoft Content Management Server, Ektron, and SiteCore. Brian's experience has given him a solid understanding of which features a CMS needs to provide to a user as well as how best to implement them.
